Interested
in completing an Introductory Certificate in Estate Management in
Kilkenny. We are presently in the process of gathering names of interested
persons to participate on an Estate Management Certificate in Estate
management The programmes is designed for all those involved in communities
and estates And for the statutory representatives who work with them
The purpose of the course is to enable participants to increase their
knowledge of estate management concentrating on a local perspective.
Lectures will include representatives of relevant statutory agencies,
voluntary organisations and tenants

Community Information Evening Thursday the 4th of November 2003
You and your committee are invited to a community information
meeting for the 4th of November at 8pm in the Newpark Hotel. The objective
of the meeting is to give an update on the RAPID programme in Kilkenny.
Provide a platform for new communities to meet active community groups,
the official launch of the Kilkenny RAPID website. For further details

Ossory Park Remedial Scheme underway
The
approved remedial housing scheme for Ossory Park ( € 690,000
) is presently in the
process of being delivered, as outlined at the recent borough Council
meeting by Director of Community Enterprise Mr.Tony Walsh. Preparation
of a plan for the sequencing of the overall refurbishment programme
is underway, to include the development of a proposal for a changed
streetscape. The external appearances of the estate including the
external finishes to houses and the provision of community facilities
for Ossory Park.
Sports and Capital Grants
A new round of sports and capital grants are to be announced in the
coming weeks Priority will be given to RAPID areas. For further information

Regional Website Under Construction
Following the recent development of the Kilkenny RAPID website a South
Eastern Site is presently being developed, the
site will cover all RAPID areas in the South East including, Kilkenny,
Carlow, Athy, Carrick-On-Suir, Clonmel, Waterford, New Ross and Wexford.
The objective of the site is to act as an information tool for all
community ,the general public and RAPID Co-ordinators providing a
forum to exchange examples of best practice in the South East. The
site will also provide relevant updated information for communities
involved in community based activities, should you have any suggestions
or queries with reference to the site please contact Ronan in the

Youth Conference Objective.
As part of the RAPID strategic plan It is proposed to hold a Youth
Conference targeting all groups and agencies providing youth services
in Kilkenny City,. The one day forum will act as a platform for all
interested parties to discuss / highlight
service integration , what is working well and difficulties in providing

South Eastern RAPID Community Forum well underway.
The
Kilkenny South Eastern forum met for the second time in Clonmel in
early October, the forum which is made up of community representatives
from each of the RAPID areas in the South East are using the successful
network to share information on obstacles overcome, funding opportunities
and to update each RAPID area on its activities for further details
contact either Ronan Ryan or AIT community Rep Ray Scanlon. The South
East community reps next meeting will take place in Kilkenny in January
2004.
New Community Reps welcomed onto COG
Mags Leaghy Chairperson of COG officially welcomed Johnny Parker (
New Orchard Community Rep ) onto the Community Organisation Group
at COG's recent meeting. Each of the new communities identified under
the RAPID programme continue to be co-opted officially onto COG providing
the City with a comprehensive community representation. Millennium
Court & and O'Loughlin Court are to be co-opted at the next COG
